I agree with the RED status of the weapon!

Suggestion: The green color (text color) of green items is too similar to the green in the chat; When a gold/purple is dropped you can clearly see it in chat, not the case of greens so, the red is a color never showed in chat, it will be perfect for look in chat.

Great Suggestion! I love the fact that the weapons have a Req. of 15 or higher and are PvE only. A-Net really needs to implement this. Red is a great color, and they should show up Red when you say " I'm wielding a Balthazar's Judgement"

that would be kool!

My guild leader has been hoping for soooooooo long for 2 handed swords. if they take your suggestion, he will be like a kid in a candy store.....

lol

As long there is 2 req's to use the weapon in the first place. There is no problems. I have a few of my own. I think the methods of gaining these should be hard at least.

The ultra rare Uniques Reds are a concept they already have on the books... But I don't think its going to be the oversized Anime style that the OP described... Thats a little too much Phantasy Star Online/ Final Fantasy I think for Anets taste...

As I understood it Reds will be in Hard mode (Occasional Mission Final Boss drop {not like a green}) and be a 1 time only drop per character. Meaning not only are your chances like 1 in 50 to get it, but once you get it on that character you will NEVER get it again. So if your STUPID enough to sell it, your out of luck.

This would make a Red weapon a True Rare. Meaning it can not be mass produced to flood the game by farmers.

not a bad idea, however red weapons should only be in place of weapon+shield or wand+off hand combo not as staves, hammers or scythes as it will make those either overpowered or have ridiculously high req for nothing...
also lower the reqs back to 13 as 15 is just too much, and shiro's sword+daggers are also 13...

Although the sketch is way over the top, a Zweihander would be better than that (im guessing) mammoth Zanbato because Zanbatos can only be used on horses (although real Zanbatos are thin and slender while anime ones are fat like the sketch)

Hmm, imagine a Paragon throwing a Spear of Archemorus sized weapon. :P

Sounds cool though. Halberds and Zanbatos ftw.

This is a great idea, it makes perfect sense, too. I agree that these items should be extremely rare and possibly restricted to one per character. It would be awesome to see my Warrior wielding a huge goddamned sword, although it sucks that Rangers/Sins/Dervishes have no offhand to combine with their main weapon into one

Maybe this is an opportunity for ANet to bring in new weapons for those classes so that they can have red items too? For instance, someone suggested whips with a beast master req and staves with a wilderness survival req for Rangers.

But if not, who says there can't be red Scythes/Daggers/Bows? As long as they're just as rare and have an awesome skin, it should be fine.

I just hope that if they do decide to use the idea, they don't make it GW2 exclusive. That would suck, it should be in GW 1 and 2.

More animations means more time to make them, specific animations for classes, the workload just multiplies. It's a no-no for just an update.

Plus, reading through this thread, I have to give a thumbs down. If they're going to impliment improved PvE-only weapons, I'm fine with that. But these ideas... sorry... just, no. Yall watch too much anime.

I'm sorry but I don't like the Final Fantasy/anime influences in Guild Wars. I prefer the weapons to look somewhat proportionally correct. A Sword that big would be impossible to lift with two-hands let alone try swinging it regardless how strong the person.
its equivalant to asking a Lumberjack to use a telephone pole for a baseball bat.

It might look "cool" in anime or in World of Warcraft, but it looks silly in photographic style that Guild Wars has.

You can always go play Final Fantasy.

Amazing...
And an acquireability idea: 1 per account, auto customized, end-game for ALL campaigns.

/signed for cool looking weapons with more stats but why is does the spear about enchantments? Shouldn't that be a scythe?

maybe i'm not seeing something here but you got the double requirements which i understand but why the high requirement in the one seeing you could wield 2 things with lower different requirements of 9 with about the same stats overall. not trying to flame just curious.

cool idea. I like it.

The animation thing wouldn't be too bad for PvP IMO. It would only throw the good players off the first time they saw it. Not that keeping things like that out of PvP is a bad idea by any means.
